Dynamic DNS Client Installation Check List
To install Dynamic DNS client, you need a domain name, Dynamic DNS client software and web server software.
Dynamic DNS Client Installation Check List:
Before you install a Dynamic DNS Client, please check if the following items are ready:
1. Domain Name
You should register a domain before you install DynSite and Webserver.
NOTE:
Your domain must be activated on the Internet. A new domain will usually take 24 - 48 hours to be activated on the Internet.
2. Dynamic DNS Client Software
DynSite will be used in this tutorial.
DynSite is a shareware, that is you can try it for free for 30 days then you must register your copy to obtain a license code (also called a serial number) if you want to keep using it. If you decide not to register you have to uninstall the program (from Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs icon.)
3. Web Server
You will install a webserver in your computer.
NOTE:
We use Abyss Webserver (freeware) in this tutorial.
4. Operating System
The operating system used in this tutorial is windows 2000.
NOTE:
DynSite run on Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003.
If all the above items are ready, you can start installing the Dynamic DNS Client and Webserver.
